About the Artist
Archie Yates is a Fine Art student at Cardiff Metropolitan University, currently in his third year and expected to graduate on 14 July. His practice explores metaphysical and subconscious spaces, using painting, sculpture, printmaking, light, and installation to create immersive works that deal with memory, transcendence, death, and the unfathomable.
His work has been exhibited at Swindon Signal Art Festival, as well as in two university exhibitions at G39 in Cardiff. Through layered surfaces, constructed environments, and dramatic uses of light and shadow, Archie's work seeks to create threshold-like spaces that feel both physical and psychological.
He is currently developing his practice toward larger-scale installation and material-led experimentation, with the intention of pursuing a Master's in Fine Arts in Vienna from 2027.
